Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path – Psalm 119:105 KJV
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth – II Timothy 2:15 KJV
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also – II Timothy 2:2 KJV
. . . the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth – I Timothy 3:15 KJV
Studying the Scriptures is a great command to the Christian, a command to the pastor is train the people under his care, and the house of God is the pillar and ground of the truth. To this aim, our pastor is assembling this Bible Institute for the benefit of God’s people. This curriculum is free, and as much as possible the books and other reading material required are free either available in portable documents or on such websites as Internet Archive. The material presented is taught at an appropriate college level of instruction. While this is a free and unaccredited Bible Institute, our pastor has credentialed education: he holds a Bachelor of Arts in pastoral ministry and Greek from Appalachian Bible College, Beckley, West Virginia; and, a Master of Divinity in Biblical Languages from Liberty University, Lynchburg, Virginia.
One may simply “audit” the courses offered without any reading; however, reading is strongly encouraged for the benefit of the student. If one desires to follow a scholarly approach, arrangements can be made for term papers and exams as appropriate for each class. It is recommended that if one has a church home, pastoral guidance should be sought out from their own pastor in pursuing these courses.
This is a long-term project, and courses will be made available as they are completed. The courses presented are either delivered during the Adult Bible Study hour on Sunday morning, or for Sunday evening worship.
The courses are available on YouTube in playlists; each playlist contains the links for the relevant course materials as well.
The theological perspective of the material is Baptist, holding that Baptist Covenant Theology and Sovereign Grace are the proper way to understand the Holy Bible and Salvation. We hold that the Authorized (King James) Bible is the Word of God for English speaking people, and is used without any reservation. We hold to a pre-tribulation/pre-millennial (yet non-dispensational) position of the Lord Jesus Christ’s return for the Church.
